Blyth Power's "Ixion" 7" & "Goodbye To All That" 12"

This two releases used to be under "Whole Bunch Of 7" Vinyls!" post, but since Malisha of Rockin' Nöiz blog has kindly given me the scanned covers (thanx!) and also corrected me that I've mixed up info on which one is a 7" and which one is a 12" release I've decided to post them once again in a separate post with corrections applied. Also, I haven't figured out how to insert pictures in the middle of the post and not screw up everything else. This is the stuff I've written in the original post:
"This are two of Blyth Power's releases from the 80's. Their "Ixion'' 7'' is the release that introduced me to this band. I got hooked on their cover of Johnny Cash's "Folsom Prison Blues" and have been a fan of Blyth Power from then on. You can find info on them in my previous post with Blyth Power's "Paradise Razed" CD."
PS: Download folders still have messed up names, correct them yourselves, sorry for the inconvenience, just to repeat it once again: "Ixion" is a 7'' and "Goodbye To All That" is a 12''.

COCKNEY REJECTS [1980] Greatest Hits Vol. 1

Cockney Rejects are the best Oi! punk band ever! You must be crazy if you don't believe me. They are great, just look at this release, it was their first album (I think that Cockney Rejects vocalist Stinky Turner was around 16-17 years old at this time) and they called it "Greatest Hits Vol. 1" and there is not a one bad song on it. I used to listen to this again and again and again... I can't help myself, I love this. I wonder why I never got a tattoo of them somewhere on my body while I was drunk. I used to do that, get drunk and then tattoo myself with my D.I.Y. tattoo machine. Cockneys are a great Oi! band! Oi! Oi! Oi! Screw it, I'm feeling too emo to write about this one... Brings too much memories... They are still active and released a new album in 2007 called “Unforgiven” so check their official Cockney Rejects web site and Wikipedia.

ONE WAY SYSTEM [1995] The Best Of One Way System (The Punk Collectors Series)

Another Anagram Records “best of” release. One Way System was formed back in 1979 and broke up in 1984. They are best known (at least to people I know) for their song “Jerusalem”. On this compilation you can find some songs from their “All Systems Go” and “Writing On The Wall” LPs and their 7”s. They reformed in 1995 and are still active, as far as I know. They have One Way System official web site so check it out for more info about them there.

COCK SPARRER [1999] Chip On My Shoulder

Cock Sparrer are a classical Oi! punk band that started playing back in the late 70’s. This is a compilation of their earlier songs from the late 70’s and 80’s with a few bonus tracks. It’s a pretty good compilation that’ll give you the idea what they sound like. I would recommend finding their “Shock Troops” LP from 1982 if you can, cos that LP is for me their best release. They are still active and have an official Cock Sparrer web site and there is a Wikipedia article about them.

Driller Killer are a pretty brutal band from Sweden. I bought this one on their gig in Močvara club in Zagreb where I went to see them cos I heard that some of the Driller Killer people were in Anti Cimex. I wasn’t disappointed, the gig was great. They are still playing, and they have their official Driller killer page, MySpace page and there’s an article on Wikipedia about them.

HUMAN GREED [1995] Absolute(ly) Greed(y)

Band from Montreal, Canada that played during 1992-1995. This is their “complete discography” type of release. I have to admit I know nothing about this band except for what I’ve read from a web page I’ve stumbled upon on the net. You can check it here, it has an info on them, their discography and a few lyrics. I got this CD from a friend, and just ripped it but I didn’t scan the covers so I haven’t got a CD cover for this one, sorry!
Updated on 25.01.2008.: Big thanx to Vedran K. (or simlply Malisha, that old 666 guy) who scanned the CD covers and told me which record label released this CD (I must be staring to get senile, I forgot he was that above mentioned friend I got this release from). He has a blog called Röckin' Nöiz so check it out if you haven't already. There you'll find.. well... rocking noise!

Nečista Savjest files on Badongo (NOT ANY MORE!!!)

I've found this file hosting service called Badongo, they say it's free and that it has no limits for uploading so I'll be using them for hosting my files for now. I've tried it out and the thing works OK, although it's a little bit more complicated than DivShare. Well, I hope that it will be working without to much trouble for all of you who are downloading stuff from this blog.
Bye for now!
News as of 24.01.2008.: Badongo sucks big way! I'm not uploading on that file hosting service any more. It's crap, I've managed to upload 3 files without problems, but after that I've been trying to upload stuff for last couple of days and it was a total failure. Connection broke many times when I was at 90%, and when I finally managed to upload something it was all screwed up (i.e. a 100 MB file was fucked up and Badongo showed that it has only 4 MB! What the fuck???). So, simply, big F.O.A.D. to Badongo! I'm not using them any more, and from my own irritating experience (wasted both time and nerves) I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Fuck you Badongo!!!

Possible problems with DivShare

As you've probably figured it out, I have been uploading files to Divshare. I was pretty happy with their service, but today I found out that they've restricted the size of my (and other free accounts) to 5 GB, and also added a restriction on how many downloads a free account like mine can have in a month. I have no intention to pay to upgrade my account, so there might be some problems with dowloading from DivShare when I reach their quotas for free accounts. I hope that this won't happen, but I feel that I should warn you that maybe there could be some problems with downloading stuff from Nečista Savjest. I'll try to figure it out, I'm trying to find some other file hosting service to upload my files, but to be honest, I'm dreading the possibility that I would have to move all the stuff I've uploaded until now to somewhere else.
Well, that's it for now. If you have problems downloading, if some of the links don't work, please just tell me by posting a comment (under "komentari") in the latest post on this blog, and I'll try to fix it even if it means moving all my files to some other file hosting service.
Cheers for now!

REGGAE GREATS

Until now I haven't posted any reggae on Nečista Savjest blog, so I decided to correct this by putting up this "the best of" type of compilations that I've bought in a shopping mall from one of those "great offer" type of wire baskets. Well, I have to say that I think I really got a deal since each of this CDs cost me about 30 Kn (kuna = Croatian money) which comes down to around 4 € for one CD. Bands are great, the ones I like the most are Black Uhuru (meaning Black Freedom) and Steel Pulse. I like reggae (but don't worry, I won't be turning this blog into a Bob Marley shrine) cos I find reggae to be revolutionary like punk. I mean, Bob Marley was singing about shooting cops (OK, he shot the sheriff, but not the deputy…) long before punks started to express their dislike with the boys in blue… The Clash, P.A.I.N. and a whole bunch of my favourite bands play a mix of punk and reggae/dub… So here it is, my first reggae post.

I got this with Živjela Komercijala zine. There was a gig in KSET club (I think Fakofbolan, Proleteriat, Bez Panike and Debeli Precjednik played) and you could get in after buying a copy of Živjela Komercijala (hello to Sandro!) zine as a ticket and with it you'd also get this compilation CD. It's mainly German bands, I think all of them except Bambix who are from Belgium. It's mostly punk music with a couple of hardcore and Oi! bands.

Disaffect & Quarantine

Disaffect were one of those bands who were on numerous compilations during the 90's and that's how I first heard them. They had a great mix of female/male vocals and I liked them so I was pretty happy when I got my hands on this CD. It's their complete discography (check Discogs for a list of their stuff), I think it covers everything except their "Powerless With A Guitar" LP which was a live release.
Re-uploaded on 2013-07-11.
Quarantine is a band with ex members of Disaffect and Sedition. I don't know if they recorded anything else, but this one is quite enough for me to like them a lot. My favourite Quarantine song is "Boxers And Cords" which begins with a sample from "Once Upon A Time In America" film by Sergio Leone.

DISORDER [1994] Live In Oslo + Violent World

First time I saw and heard Disorder was sometime in 1990-1991 while watching a VHS of “UK/DK” movie that was made back in 1983. They played their song “Life” and later sat at their squat drinking cider and talking about the crap they encounter in their lives. I liked them instantly. DISCHARGE [1995] The Clay Punk Singles Collection

This is a good compilation of early Discharge singles. I guess you know all about Discharge so I feel there's no need for me to write some sort of introduction to this release. If you are new to Discharge there is much information on them to be found on the Internet, and if you are a little lazy here are some of the sites I've dug up: Discharge Official MySpace page, Wikipedia article about Discharge, info & discography on Kill From The Heart and a Discharge fan site.

This band is from what was then in 1983 called West Berlin. They play fast and noisy hardcore and I like them, although I don't know anything about them except for what I've written here. Check them out!

This is one of my favourite US bands. They come from Minnesota and this 7" was released on Havoc Records (thanx Felix!!!). When I first heard it I went crazy. Unfortunately they didn't do anything else except an LP called "Invention, Extinction" for Profane Existence/Skuld Releases. I haven't heard it, but Vedran K. told me it wasn't as good as this is. Download this or/and go to Havoc Records site and order it, you won't be sorry!!!

Autonomy were an American band from Los Angeles. While Vedran K. was doing his "Ho-Ho-Ho!" fanzine this was one of the bands he was in contact with. Thanx to him I got this 7" which is a good anarcho-punk, reminds me a bit of Aus-Rotten…

I had to put up this 7" cos it brings back chaotic memories. I've actually been on this gig in Ilirska Bistrica in Slovenija (Slovenia) when this was recorded. I also got pretty pissed (cheap wine & beer mix), didn't get robbed or twatted though... But I know the guy who did punch Doom's singer. It was Hrvoje M. who later when I asked him why he did such a stupid thing told me that he thought he heard the singer from Doom say something like "Pick me in the head!" and he translated this in his drunk/dumb head that he should go on stage an punch him. Well, it was a good gig even with this stupid incident.

PEKINŠKA PATKA - Sve od Pekinške Patke

Since my last two posts were about bands from Novi Sad I thought I'd continue with that subject. Pekinška Patka (Beijing Duck) are one of the most famous Ex-Yu punk rock bands. I don't know anyone that I've met and who is from Ex-Yu that hasn't heard of this band. This is a "complete discography" type of release, on it you can find both of Pekinška Patka's albums and their 7" single. "Plitka poezija" LP and the "Bila je tako lijepa + Buba-rumba" 7" are punk rock and "Strah od monotonije" LP has a more post-punk/Joy Division style of sound.
